Inspired by the success of The Sartorialist, Toronto-based photography beginner Tommy Ton took his camera to the February 2007 Paris and New York fashion weeks on a whim. Since then he has documented every fashion week on his 2008 founded blog Jak and Jil (now simply tommyton.tumblr.com). He remains a favourite among editors due to his obsession with designers, and plays (and nearly always wins) a ‘guess what I’m wearing today’ game with Carine Roitfeld during show season.
Last year, Tommy Ton released a simplistic Instagram post suggesting that his signature blog Jak & Jil will close. Now, it seems the Photographer is leaving street style for good. Here is his Instagram post annoucing his sign off from Style.com:

Even though he did not announce the reasons or what’s next, we will definitely miss his iconic shots. In retrospect, he commented for Style.com that:
Shooting for Style.com has been the greatest opportunity, and all the friendships and memories over the years are beyond what I could have imagined. Having the freedom to capture whatever or whomever was and still is the greatest joy of my job. – Tommy Ton
